Yes, finally I learned to crochet. I didn’t get a chance to have a lesson with Geoff’s mother while we were away at his birthday weekend. But she did bring some “how to” books which filled in the mental gaps I had when it came to crochet.
Finally I can make a granny square – my life is complete.
I’m not sure if I’d ever crochet a garment – I prefer knitted fabrics. I do like the idea of using crochet for toys as well as accessories and some home items.
Below is one of the little lace-weight doily experiments I started while sick in bed two weeks ago. I made a heap of them and put them all over the cat while he slept. I keep finding them around the house.
This cute little character is a bluebird from a book called Amigurimi Two!
Neither the bird or the doily are perfect and I still have to work on getting more even stitches, but I think they are pretty good for the first things I ever crocheted.

Naww… cute little birdie. I want one. Maybe next project can be a hairy little knitted man (anatomically correct)?

I don’t know. I think I’d just feel so dirty knitting a doodle.
