In what may be the longest and laziest knit-along ever, I’ve finished my Ashburn shawl!
I actually completed it in June or July last year, after casting on in April 2017. It just took me until January 2018 to block and photograph.
Ashburn is a pattern by Melanie Berg. I would definitely knit it again or try another one of her patterns. It was well written, easy to follow and the result was satisfying.
It’s quite a long, shallow shawl which is great for wrapping around several times in really cold weather. I used my own yarn for the shawl – Sandhurst 4ply in Mister Fox, Christmas Beetle and Winter. I was on a bit of an orange binge at the time, but it’s not a great colour for me.
If I knit it again I’ll take more care to choose more flattering colours. This was definitely a knitting success for 2017, even though I don’t love the orange colour on me as much as I wanted to when I first chose it.
