The only thing better than a tea cosy is a vintage tea cosy, so today I’m showing you a Patons Craft Book from the 1950s and I’m also giving a copy away to a blog reader.
Patons always seem to have a book full of small projects in print, and this is my favourite.
From (I think) the early 1950s, it’s full of little knits that are suitable for gifts or craft stalls. The tea cosies are fantastic but the soft toys are terrifying.
Check out the horror bunny.
There are other weird toys in this pattern booklet – including a tortoise on a leash which strikes me as a bit Salvador Dali.
While the teddy bear jumper and the doll’s blankets are quite sweet, it’s the tea cosies that make this booklet one of my favourites.
If you’d like a copy, read below because I’m giving one away at the end of the month.
Every month this year I’ll be giving away a copy of a pattern featured in Retro Monday.
For July 2019 – I’ll give one reader a copy of the Patons Craft Book featured here. (It’s an “original copy” – a spare copy of the published pattern, not a photocopy).
To go in the draw to win this pattern all you need to do is make a comment on any of the Retro Monday posts for June 2019. You can enter multiple times by commenting on multiple posts, but only one entry per post.
Entry is open worldwide.
